A West York Borough Police officer has died after an individual opened fire at UPMC Memorial Hospital in York County on Saturday, according to West York Borough.
ABC News is reporting a nurse and members of law enforcement were shot during the active shooter incident during which the West York Police Department responded. WellSpan York says they received five patients for care as a result of the shooting shortly after 11 a.m.
The gunman is reportedly deceased from a self-inflicted gunshot and their identity is not known at this time.
In a statement, UPMC says no patients were injured, and the hospital is now secure.
