Rockwood, PA (XMN News) – On July 18, 2024, at around 4 PM, officers from the Somerset County Humane Police, along with their assistants, responded to a distressing call of animal cruelty in Rockwood, Pennsylvania. Upon arrival, they discovered a cat that had been trapped inside a garbage truck for an astonishing four days.
The rescue operation, which lasted a grueling six hours, was a coordinated effort involving the Pennsylvania State Police and the Rockwood Volunteer Fire Department after been requested by the Somerset County Humane Police. After extensive planning and teamwork, the cat was finally freed at 10:30 PM.
The cat, now safely reunited with its owners, appears to be in good spirits. The Somerset County Humane Police expressed their gratitude to everyone who assisted in the challenging rescue mission, highlighting the importance of community cooperation in such critical situations.
