Female pet sitter, 23, meets horrific end while caring for three pit bulls

A beloved Texas woman tragically died after she was attacked by three pit bulls she had been looking after for a family friend.

Madison Hull, 23, was pet-sitting Friday in her home town of Tyler, about an hour-and-a-half outside Dallas, when an ordinary afternoon took a chilling turn.

Hull, who was just six months away from graduating college, went to the home to let the dogs inside after they had escaped. It was then that the animals suddenly turned on her, fatally mauling her, according to the Smith County Sheriff’s Office.

A neighbor who heard the nearby commotion then called 911. When officials responded to the home they saw a female lying in the backyard, but when they went to approach her, the dogs immediately charged at an officer, Sergeant Larry Christian told the Daily Mail.

‘He was able to shoot and kill one of the dogs causing the others to retreat into the home,’ Christian said, adding that officers were then able to remove Hull from the backyard.

Christian said investigators assigned to the case are working with the Smith County District Attorney’s Office to determine if the pet owner’s, who were out of town at the time of the attack, will face charges.

A hearing is set for Wednesday ‘to determine the disposition of the two remaining dogs,’ Christian said. The owners are aware of the court hearing, but it is unclear if they will attend, Smith County Judge Andy Dunklin said.
