Louisiana Attorney General Sues Roblox Over Alleged Child Predator Threats

Baton Rouge, LA — Louisiana Attorney General Liz Murrill has filed a lawsuit against Roblox, the world’s largest gaming platform for children and teens, accusing the company of enabling a dangerous environment rife with sexual predators and harmful content.

In a statement released Thursday, Murrill called Roblox a “breeding ground for sex predators” and alleged that the platform prioritizes user growth, revenue, and profits over child safety.

“Due to Roblox’s lack of safety protocols, it endangers the safety of the children of Louisiana. Roblox is overrun with harmful content and child predators,” Murrill said. “Every parent should be aware of the clear and present danger posed to their children by Roblox so they can prevent the unthinkable from ever happening in their own home.”

The lawsuit claims Roblox has failed to implement adequate safeguards to protect minors from grooming, exploitation, and exposure to inappropriate material. It seeks legal action to force the platform to adopt stronger safety measures and accountability practices.

Roblox, which boasts over 70 million daily active users, is widely popular among children ages 6–16. The legal action in Louisiana could signal the start of broader scrutiny into online gaming platforms and their responsibility in preventing exploitation.

The company has not yet issued a formal response to the lawsuit.
