Severed Human Hands Found in Bronx Crockpot: Remains Likely Linked to Yonkers Arson CaseGrisly Discovery Leads to Investigation Into Possible Homicide

Bronx, NY — In a shocking and gruesome turn of events, severed human hands were discovered in a crockpot filled with bleach inside a Bronx apartment late Monday night. Authorities believe the victim may be connected to a separate crime scene in Yonkers, where remains were found torched in a shopping cart.

Detectives executing a search warrant at an apartment on Rogers Place near East 163rd Street in the Bronx made the horrifying discovery around 11:30 p.m. The crockpot, found on the kitchen floor, contained two severed hands submerged in bleach. A black bag located in the freezer likely contains additional body parts, including at least one leg, though it had not been opened by investigators at the time of the report.

Earlier in the day, police in Yonkers responded to a fire around 2 a.m. at Sherwood Avenue and Bronx River Parkway. Once the blaze was extinguished, they discovered charred remains in a shopping cart left on the sidewalk. Authorities believe the body was transported from the Bronx to Yonkers, where it was set alight.

Sources suggest that the Yonkers location served as a “dump site” and that the investigation has since been transferred to the NYPD and the Bronx District Attorney’s Office. Investigators are piecing together how the remains were transported and the connection between the two crime scenes.

The 65-year-old superintendent of the Bronx building where the crockpot was found described the tenant as someone with a history of drug use and problematic behavior. The superintendent had previously received complaints about the tenant but had no further details about the individual’s identity.

“This is the first time I’ve known something like this happening here,” the superintendent said, expressing shock at the incident.

The city medical examiner’s office will conduct an official determination of the cause of death. As of now, no arrests have been made in connection with the case. Authorities are urging anyone with information about the incidents to come forward as the investigation continues.
